    2014 SGS Tires

Has anyone changed the low profile 19" front tire to 17" in order to soften the ride similar to what I had on my 05 Heritage. I only have about 1200 miles on the bike, but still can't get used to the difference especially over the bumps at high speed.
If there are other suggestions like suspension modifications, let me know.
I'm almost sorry I didn't go for the Road King. I don't need all the extra seating and luggage of the Ultra.
What I like most is the clean look of the SG and especially high speed cruising...something the Heritage could not come close.

I'm using this kit from H-D and the ride is great: standard-single-cartridge-fork-kit

    hulkss,
Did you install those yourself? Did you look into the set that also lowers the front end?

I had them dealer installed when I bought the bike. I would never lower my bike. It drags in corners enough already and I don't want to reduce suspension performance.

I've been reading older reviews of the SGS. It seems that the limited travel of the rear suspension is the culprit. I know someone on this forum mentioned changing the rear shocks, but not sure as to which ones. I'm also curious if the non "special" glide has a better ride with the air shocks.

I'm running Ohlins HD 022 13" rear shocks now. They work great.

Thanks Hulkss...I'll do a little research. It just seems a shame to dump these "premium" shocks.

I have a set of 13" H-D premium shocks that I took off (the stock ones are 12"). They are fine shocks but just a little too much spring preload for my weight. If you weight 200 or more or ride 2-up they would be great. Send a PM if interested.

    Hulkss.

What are these 13" shocks you speak of?

I looked threw the Harley parts book and did not see them.

I have a 15 SGS, is it the stock shocks on my bike?

I think you have to be careful if you swap with a linked ABS system. Wasn't there something about front to rear tire ratios effecting the ABS.
