That will be an awesome ride!! Durango/Silverton is spectacular! Santa Fe is beautiful, take the back way thru the Sandia mountains over to ABQ. You will have to take I40W for last segment into ABQ. Watch for radar in southern NM and keep plenty of water on board because you can dehydrate fast and not realize it.

On the back side of the Sandias you can take a nice windy, switchback road all the way to the top of Sandia Crest and lookout over the entire city of ABQ. Elevation somewhere around 10,700 feet. back in the 60's when I worked at KOB-TV the transmitter engineers would be snowed in for weeks at the tower sites. They had fully equipped houses up there for them. You can also ride the Tramway all the way down the front side and back up to your bikes. They have a decent ski run there as well but not in July!

Make sure and stop in Madrid at the Mine Shaft Tavern.....It'll be on your left....visit some art gallery's while you're there...its on State Route 14 as you leave Santa Fe....its a descent 2 lane road.

There are some of those state roads that are dirt though....but on your routing you should be ok. Like Mojo said, take some time to go to the top of the Sandia Crest. The steel forest. SR 14 crosses SR 536, which takes you to the top. Theres a nice little gift shop and the tram.
