I purchased two DOT approved Akoury half helmets this year and I am very satisfied with them. I have two friends that purchased the same style Akoury helmets after seeing mine.
They are light and you hardly realize that they are on your head after getting used to them. I have always ridden with a full or 3/4 faced helmet and the visibility and hearing are excellent.
