I'm looking to get the Custom Dynamics turn signal kit for my SG. I'm trying to decide on the lens cover color that come with these. Do you think if I go with the red and amber instead of clear it will diminish the brightness at all? I have an email into them but would like an opinion from some end users. TIA, Mike

LED lens covers

I bought the smoked lenses.

When I plasti coated the tail/brake light housing. I used the stock lenses and left the CD disks installed. The stock lenses seemed to fit perfectly with the disks installed.

Smoked lens ( light smoke ) do not diminish the lighting as the dark smoke lenses do. I have the light smoke and they are VERY bright with CD LED lights.... BTW... the lights are off

Smoked in front if you go with the Dynamic rings. These are the ones that run bright white like mini Aux lights until you hit the turn signal switch, then they go amber. I love them! CD is a good company with great customer service!

Thanks guys. Here's the reply from CD:

Mike,

I personally think the clear lens appears a little washed out (especially in direct sunlight during the day). I would recommend smoked lenses over clear. However, your brightest option will be the same color LED behind the same color lens i.e. Red LED behind a Red Lens.

Thanks,
Karen

Ordered the turn signal kit and tail light at 3:17 pm this afternoon and at 4:00pm received the tracking number. Damn, that's fast.

Take your time getting them installed... they are a tight and perfect fit. Some modified the lenses... I did not, because I knew they should fit and they do. You just have to seat the LED housing just right and with perfect timing, install the lens... it took a few tries per light.. but in the end they were in and perfect.

I have the smoked lenses in mine as well. Lights are very bright through them

Um, timing is an understatement. How about a pain in the ass getting the led turn modules in place. They look good and bright though. I needed the stabilizer also.
The tail light kit did not go good at all. I used there template and it mounts the tail light too low. Now I can't get the turn signal assembly on. Had to remove the tail light. I emailed them. We'll see what they say. I will have to drill another hole in my fender up higher, I need new adhesive 3m tape and activator and hopefully I didn't wreck the tail light pulling it off. I used fish line in a sawing motion while my wife pulled on the light. Not impressed at all with this. The tail light does not need to be mounted with that tight of clearance to the turn signal assembly. You wonder why people pay the premium for Harley stuff. It's fits. Hopefully they take care of me. Just gotta drive around with a hole in my fender for awhile I guess.

Hope so, will do, thanx Spazz. Gonna have a few beers & watch the Pack hopefully smoke the Seahawks.

buckshot85- so sorry to hear of your woes. I decided not to do their tail light and do the Plasma Rods instead. I didn't have any trouble putting the LED signals all the way around.

Well, the Packer game is a bust. Hope to hear from CD tomorrow. Will let y'all know what's up when I hear from them.

Talked to Karen and Dennis at CD today. Long story short, customer service on the phone was great. Dennis did not want to send me new adhesive without checking the light over for cracks, function, etc... He said he did not want to have me get caught in a rain storm and have water issues. So I sent it out to them today priority and they should have it Monday. We will see then what they would like to do. He said he will check sales and engineering to see if they should adjust the template some to not have this happen again. I assured him that I was not a novice of any sort and that I just followed there directions and he completely understood. I guess this all I can ask for, for now.
