Ok just have to say I hate you all!!! Just kidding but I do hate that I live in CA and cant CC or open carry. I do live in Riverside county and heard they are issuing CCW's from time to time. But the appointment wait is like a year. I want to move to TX or AZ but the wife don't want to go as she has family here, well so do I but I want some of my rights back and to keep more of my money.

I was in LA last week. In a dim restaurant the waiter came back with my credit card and asked me for an ID. I mistakenly gave him my CCW permit. He was amazed and couldn't believe I had a carry permit. Good old California, makes me remember WHY I left there ! :)

Well I don't know how So Cal but up here in NorCal they give the CCW's out. Some of the counties are easier than others though.

Don't know about Riverside/San Bernardino counties, but its supposedly easier in Orange county. LA county...forget about it. I plan on applying for mine soon. I had one in Washington (King county), and it was easy. Just apply for the CCW, the local PD runs a background check and then mail the CCW. Its good for 5 years.

I would rather them have open-carry as anyone can carry without a permit but in California, that will probable never ever happen.

God bless arizona. I carry everywhere. The challenge here is hiding a gun in the summer. And thanks to my ccw, I don't even need a call to ncic to buy a gun just money and fill out the good old 4473

In Minnesota we have open carry permit. Strap your hog leg on and waltz into Walmart. HOWEVER discretion is urged. One might end up downtown explaining the need to display a 6" Stainless .45 wheel gun in front of mothers, children, and those sensitive to certain issues.

CCW in Georgia too. I have been toting for many years. I don't disagree with the legal right to open carry, however, I feel it is not the thing to do. Gun owners will not make frilends by intimidating those people who are uncomfortable around guns. And, in an "active shooter" scenario, who is going to be singled out and shot at first....the open carry person. I prefer to stay "in the weeds" with a 45 on my hip, under clothing.

Yeah when I was in Washington (Kitsap County) it was if you were 21, never convicted of a felony, and had $38 you were in. But that was in like 1991.

Wal-Mart was the first pale I ever open-carried here in Ohio. I was even advised to do it as the sheeple would never notice.

Open carry permit eh? Constitutional here in Ohio for open-carry. Hopefully it will be everywhere some day.

I tend to conceal however. Never really got used to open carry, but still do occasionally.

Amen to that Brother Bones!

I do not yet have my CCW but have taken the class and ready for it. I got called out on a job in Ohio the day after and didn't get to get the finger print stuff and all but I always carry my friend ol' Ruger P90 .45 with me EVERYWHERE!! But in Ohio it is kinda stupid because you can open carry just fine BUT, you can't carry in a vehicle loaded without a permit!
I did talk to a trooper and asked him about what I should do as on a Hog if you put it in the bag then it's a concealed and he told me it is somewhat of a grey area but I should just wear it and if I'm pulled over to inform the officer. He said most troopers preferred it that way and would not bother you about it unless you were being stupid and gave them a reason.
