Im having a loud knocking sound when my EITMS is active. Its embarassing too. I had buddies approach my bike and ask what is that sound. Any ideas? I have disabled it and have no issues

Sorry not much of a wrench, but thought it was interesting yesterday when I picked mine up, Harley tech said no reason to put in EITMS mode unless you "know" you're going to be "in" stop and go traffic, then take it out. I was leaving it enabled all the time, he said don't.

+1 what he said. IMHO a worthless feature unless your a parade junkie.

Thanks. Yes its permanently disabled now. I use my dakota digital oil temp gauge for monitoring. If it gets too hot I will stop for a beer or two or three

I have never used it... Totally agree if the bike gets warm, it's beer time..

When you live and ride in 96 to 104 degree temps, then the bike is always hot. I'd do a lot of drinking and no riding. Lol.
Mine is always enabled, haven't heard of any problems till this post.

Same here in Florida, It's active 10 mins after I leave the house. I hate it but rather save my engine than cook it.

Bought mine in March but haven't used it much. Temps started to get up in the 90's over the last couple weeks and I have been using mine. A few days ago, I actually turned my music down for a minute and noticed the same knocking when the EITMS went active. I pulled into a nearby parking lot to run it down real quick and it seems to be coming behind the derby cover. Could this be the clutch basket slapping back and forth since it's such an irregular idle cadence? As I roll a little throttle to get it out of EITMS mode, it rattles pretty good just for a half second. I turned it off since It's not really needed. Just using it to see how it works and get accustomed to it in case I have to use it. In such places as trying to get through downtown Stugis in August this summer during the Rally! lol Cuz that sh*t will get your scoot cooking. :p

Disable EITMS:
With the engine idling, turn the throttle grip forward (CC) and hold at it's limit for 5-6 seconds. If you have the 6.5 Boombox and it's turned on, press the Info button and it will display when its enabled/disabled.

Oh OK, I thought that was the cylinder shut down at idle. I have that
