Birthday Present To Myself

I walked into my dealership on my birthday for no other reason then to kill some time between dropping my parents off at the airport and picking up a friend that was arriving at the airport a couple hours later.

I had ordered a Vivid Black 2014 Street Glide Special awhile back and was told that it would be arriving in January. Low and behold, there was one sitting on the showroom floor. I was informed that the dealership had received three SGS the previous day for reaching their sales goals for the last month. One Denim Black sold the day they came in, one Whiskey Amber and the Vivid Black.

I picked out the accessories I wanted and left to pick up my friend. I dropped my friend off and headed back to the dealership to finish the paperwork. They came to my house to pick up my trade, 2009 VRod Muscle. It had snowed the night before and the temperature was a balmy 29 degrees, so no fair well final ride on the VRod.

The bike was delivered, with everything installed and tuned, three days later. Pretty good considering it was over the weekend.

I couldn't have wished for a better birthday!

The Whiskey Amber sold the day after I bought mine.

If you want a SGS and you see it on the showroom floor. You better grab it. It probably won't be there if you hesitate.

I'll be picking my SGS up in the spring, probably within a few days of my birthday. They do make a nice present. Never got to ride it this fall, went straight into winter storage after getting set-up. Supposed to be -20 F here next weekend.

We had a beautiful day today, 55 degrees. Put on a few miles. ODO reads 151. Supposed to hit 60 tomorrow. I'll be putting on a few more miles.

Going to get nasty on Wednesday. High of 13 with snow. It'll be time to puruse through the new Harley accessory catalog. Ha!

That has to be about the worst thing I can think of... new SG and can't ride it til spring! I would be chomping at the bit! Heck I have not even ordered mine yet (January) and already getting antsy. Wifey told me yesterday to go ride and get out of her way so she could decorate the house inside for Christmas so I did. One of my riding buddies was riding his new 2014 SG and it was vivid black, just like the one I want! He offered to let me take it down the road and back but I declined. Oh well, not long now I guess.

Nice choice of scooter Hurka! You'll have all winter to plan your mods. If you haven't got the bug yet, don't worry it'll come soon enough! Enjoy the weather...winter hasn't hit yet in Norcal... still 50's & 60's and a lot of folks riding but a cold fronts on the way.

Nice present! I just came from a 2011 Night Rod Special to a new Street Glide as well and love it. I bought mine on September 25th and already have 4500 miles on it.

My girl friend is enjoying the new bike as much as I am. She loves to ride with me and was a real trooper on those all day rides on the VRod Muscle. Now she has a much better seat and backrest.

Enjoy the weather while you've got it brother. We have a major front coming in tomorrow night.


The "bug" has hit hard. I think I have the big accessory book memorized. I have some plans for the off season.

Good looking bike. I bought mine in November and got 350 on it. taking it to the shop 1st of the year for pipes tuner and dyno.
