I just did my 5K service... Well, most of it!

One of the checklist items is to inspect, adjust and lubricate (with 'Harley Lube' - the clear stuff that comes in a needle) the brake and clutch levers.

The levers look fine, don't seem to need adjusting, and so I'm left wondering how exactly to lubricate them. Has anyone done here done this before?

Do I just push the pivot pin up from the bottom, and slide the Harley Lube needle tip in under the head of the pivot pin to lube the pin - or do I need to remove the lever and lube something else? There is nothing on this in the service manual, other than saying to do it on the maintenance checklist.

If you do your own service and could shine some light on this for me, I'd appreciate it!

I just replaced both my clutch & break levers on my 16 SG. It's really easy to remove& line them. On YouTube "Ride It Wrench It" has a video showing how to remove the levers.

I will be doing clutch and brake lever maintenance this week on my 2015 SGS. I will probably replace the snap rings when I remove them, just for good measure. It would be a really bad day if the pins backed out (while riding), due to not using new snap rings.

I am curious to know, just how many of you perform this maintenance on your clutch and brake levers? I figured it was time for me, as my clutch lever has an annoying squeak that is intermittent. I am guessing this probably occurred due to being caught in the rain and washing the bike many times over.

I just changed levers on my bike, there are plastic pivot bushings on the levers around the pin holes.that is where you would lube, and a dab where the levers push on the hydraulic actuator buttons.

Thanks for the tip 18flhxs! I will put it to use.
