Can anyone advise if a radio flash is necessary on a 2017 CVO with Boom Audio II running three amps? My Bro just added a third amp to his bike to push the lower pod speakers. Problem is, the speakers aren't that loud, nor do they sound as clear as the fairing speakers. BTW, he did use the HD harness which even has one additional port to run a fourth Boom Audio II amp. Any insight from the pros would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about HD Boom, but if he used a HD amp and and HD wiring Harness, the first thing I would do is take it to the HD dealer he bought it from and see if they have a flash that will get it right.

No flashes anymore.

I brought my 2017 in and the dealer figured out (after an hour), that the new radio does not get flashed. He told me that the radio will automatically recognize and adjust for the HD amps.

If your not using a HD amp, you may have an issue.

that's bad news

Update: The dealer did have to reflash the radio. This unlocked an additional fade feature (up and down for the pod speakers) and created a much better sound from the pod speakers.

how was the install ?I am doing this now

The install is straight forward, but will require a flash at the dealer afterwards. If you intend on installing a WHIM, it would be wise to do so at the same time, so that you only have to pay for the flash once.
