I'm getting ready to buy a sgs and the first thing I want to do is put some pipes on it. What are some good/ popular set of pipes to go with? I was thinkng vans and hines twin slash rounds slip on's. I want something with that deep loud sound but not too loud that it's annoying. Any suggestions?

I just put on CFR slip ons, nice deep tone, neighborhood friendly, nice growl when you get on it, there are videos out there but you really need to hear in person.if you want something just a little louder then stock then go with screaming eagle street cannons, i had them but replaced with the CFR.

i did the twin slash rounds on my 12 glide & i love the sound plus they save you some $. I also put on the V&H Dresser Dual headers.

I have a '14 SGS and am running V & H Power Duals with 4" Rinehert mufflers and a PCV tuner. Runs Awesome.

Taking mine in Saturday for the dyno will post my numbers when I get them shooting for about 95 hp and 110-115 torque

Got the dyno done today came out at 93 hp and 107 torque at the rear wheel. Not quite what I was wanting but close I guess.

Those are good numbers! I decided to go with V&H twin slash rounds, SE tuner and SE air cleaner. I'm dropping it off at the dyno shop this coming Saturday. I'll post numbers when I get it back.

I picked mine up from the dyno today. Stock head pipes with cats in them, SE super tuner, SE A/C and V/H twin slash rounds. 83.13 HP 102.25 TQ

That's pretty good! I have the True Dual head pipe and mine was:
Dyno numbers: 89.47HP/105.7 TQ

I only could ride about 40 miles yesterday, but the V/H twin slash rounds sounded nice. They aren't as deep and loud as the CFR's were, but they give the bike a crisp Harley blat sound and can wake the neighbors up when you really get after it.

Blkbrd,
It seems to me as Harley pipe burn in per say they get a little deeper in sound and a bit louder. At least that has been my experience with all mine.

I was actually wondering about that. If the stock cat gets hot and cold through riding, I'm wondering if it will wear off a little and affect the tuning. Any thoughts?

Now I don't know about the cat because I don't ever keep stock system. That is the first thing to go for me. I don't even leave the dealer with those stock pipes on lol
