Hello! Been riding for years but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the mechanics of bikes. Question.... I had to have work done on my 2010 Street Glide (front rim replacement) and the Harley shop ordered me a new 19" rim by accident as opposed to the 18" rim that was on my bike. They offered to install it anyway and to provide the 19" tire. Should I be concerned about the change from 18" to 19"? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The new M8 SGS’s come with 19” rims, consider it an upgrade.

Adding a 19'' front wheel to my '12 I immediately noticed a slightly rougher ride due to the low profile tire but besides that, it looks way better and the ride change will go unnoticed in short order..

The stock 18 you had is the equal to the 19 size tire with the lower profile tire side wall. Looks cooler I guess.

I recently purchased a 2015 SG FLHRX with 2,000 miles . After putting a couple of hundred miles on it, I was disappointed with both the ride and handling characteristics of the SG. It did not compare with my 1999 Road King Classic , which I have been riding since it was new.
The ride was rough and I felt every bump, tar snake and road imperfection thru the handlebars and handling seemed stiff to me.. After some research I decided to change the suspension, I replaced the stock rear 12” shocks , with 13” Legend-Revo-A FLH 1310-0959 rear shocks and the stock front shocks with Legend AXIO Front Shocks. This improved the ride dramatically. I was still unhappy with the handling characteristics, so I changed the stock 19” wheel with low profile tire to a 17” wheel and full profile tire. The overall Diameter of the wheel tire combo did not change, however I did pick up 1” of side wall with the full profile tire.
In my opinion the bike now handles and rides the way I feel it should and now compares favorably with my Road King Classic.
This is my 56th year of riding, so I do have a few miles on me, and know what kind of performance I want from my ride.

I think you misunderstood my post, I repaced the stock 19" wheel (low profile Tire) with a 17" Wheel(Slicer) and a full profile tire The diameters are the same but the handling is much improved.

what all did have to do with the swap? im putting a '19 special front wheel on me '12 flhx. so far ran into a problem with wheel fitting in its position inbetween the 2 spacers. i first shaved the spacers a little to make up for the fitting problem but there was drag on the wheel when free spinning.
so i swapped the abs bearings with non abs bearings because my bike doesnt have abs, and ordered a new set of spacers and hoping that will fix my problem. but when we put the old shaved down spacers in, just so the bike can sit on the ground and not on jack, once tightened the wheel still had some drag...
hoping the new spacers fix the problem, but is there something im missing?
