Hey everyone got bored last week and decided to install some LA chopper 10". After the install I found out like everyone else the faring mirror aren't worth jack so ordered the ones see on the bike.

The install was pretty ease or at least easier than The 08 road king I had. This one took about 4 hrs. I had to extend the switch wiring but not the TBW.

Check E-Bay for the plugs. I have the same problem with my mirrors I just haven't found a replacement set I want yet.

The ones I put on work pretty well and don't look to bad. They don't stick up to far over the fairing

Those look good Airdog. I'm looking for something that looks good with the shape of my bars but I can still see something behind me. How's the field of vision in those shaped mirrors?

Thanks for sharing. I was looking at these online yesterday and was wondering about the difficulty of the install. They look great

Scatrgunr the field of view isn't to bad, not as good as the fairing mounted ones but does the job.. I got them off demon cycles web site they have a ton of different mirror, at reasonable prices, I've bought several mirror of the years and have been very happy.

Thanks Cousin the hardiest part of the whole installation was getting the pins out of one little plug, but after I figured it out it went very fast.. Use a lot of lube..( that just doesn't sound right saying out loud.. LMAO)

Airdog..

I was talking to my indie last night and he told me it would be about 1k to do the whole Yaffe monkey bar set up but I prefer the L.As.

What else is needed as far as cables in order to do the install?

Cousin what size are going with? If u go with 10" like mine. all you need is a control extension kit. Brake and clutch cables are good, TBW is good as well.

Air dog,
Is yours a SGS? I was wondering if the extra controls complicate the instal. I'm going to go with 10" ( probably Yaffes) but haven't decided if I want to take this job on myself or not.

The HD dealer told me 8.5 hrs of labor+material with 10" Yaffes. They claim they have to extend all the wires and cables.. Really think I am going to tackle this in the winter. They will do my motor work, but I refuse to spend 1000-1300 for bars!!!

No mine is not SGS but I did a SGS for friend a few weeks ago and it went as easy as mine no big deal it being a SGS.

Yeah the dealership told me the same thing, I did my Road king a few years ago so I jumped in and did it.. The SG was way easier than the RK.. 3hrs or less of work and it's done. You have to extend the control wires and TBW but the clutch and brake fit fine on mine no extending .

How functional are the fairin mounted mirrors with the taller bars? Can you look under your hands and see them? Also, do you notice more airflow on your hands or are you still within the pocket of air created by the fairing?

I have more confidence removing the motor than all those darn wires... Really want some 10" bars!!! How hard is the inner fairing to remove?

I'm putting 10" twin Peaks on a '13 SG. Anyone have issue with clutch cable or brake line being too short?

Thanks - Muskrat
