First post so please excuse me if this is a redundant or stupid question but I've been searching all over for an answer with no luck. I've rode a softail deluxe for 6 years and recently upgraded to a 2014 SGS and I am very happy with it. I am a true believer in the quote "loud pipes save lives". I grew up hearing my dad talk about the sound of a harley. The loud rumble.... My stock bike does not have it... ,y question is what is the loudest set of slip ons I can throw on without taking away too much performance? I've looked into D&D, RC components, Rinharts and several others but I end up back where I started... Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I ended up buying Rush Big Louie 4" slip on's. I'm real happy with the sound. Adding a good set of slip on's will not hurt the performance, it will help it, adding a turner and breather will also. Due to the EPA these bikes are detuned and really need all three things done. Once done it will really wake the bike up.

I have rhineharts but going V/H Pro Pipe in a couple months...

The big radius will not fit baggers unfortunately. . Bags are in the way

I had 2-2 Big Radius on my Breakout

Is that a SE Heavy Breather A/C and if so could you hear it sucking air while rolling down the road ?

We (brother & I) just put on V & H 4" Monster Rounds with the Power Dual headers along with the SE Heavy Breather today and I'm hearing something from around the A/C when giving it some throttle while rolling down the road.
I'm assuming its the sounds of the A/C sucking in air.

CFR's are the way to go for loud, deep sounding exhaust. I haven't heard anything deeper, the quality is great, I love mine.

I normally do not pay much attention to exhaust sound. I am using SE Street Cannons with the factory catted head pipe. The bike just begs me to roll on the throttle to hear the sound of a big H-D V-Twin. Earplugs are essential for a long ride. They have a big very deep sound, not intended for use without the cat converter. Last weekend I rode with a group of 17 bikes all day. A number of people who were behind me at different times during the day commented that my bike sounded great and wanted to know more about the exhaust system.

Hey flatlander, I just put SE A/C on my SGS and I hear it doing the same , it's normal I have roland sands high flow a/c on another bike and it's same same

Just got done adding V&H Monster Ovals with the HD Heavy Elite air cleaner. Noticed a definite increase in the heat on the right leg before the Stage 1 download. After the download the heat problem went away. The Monster Ovals are not any louder than stock, but have a deeper tone, which is the way I like it.

Early morning hours on 4th of July, I installed my V/H Pro Pipe... I couldn't be happier with sound and peformance. Did 415 miles today. .

I'll bet you were having a ball putting those on too! They look great and will be a great performance booster I'm sure.
