Vance and Hines 2-1 Pro Pipe for my 2014 SGS (Install )

The header bolts have a low torque spec.. it does take much to seat the pipes without a leak

Well it's not done yet but almost. I just have the right floorboard to put back on and to clean, clean and clean some more on the chrome heat shields. Then she'll be ready to start... Oh thank god.... It just got to be too late to finish tonight.

As my first project, I bit off more than I could chew but thankfully for the great help from Spazz and making myself over think things to go slow, it's almost there.

I knew you could do it! It's a big confidence booster for future mods and help others to see it done... GREAT JOB!

You are gonna love it onceyou fire it up... then the smile tales a while to start hurting...lol.

Keep in mind that you need to check your fasteners on the heat shields after you first ride... the muffler clamp especially... the heat with expand and contract loosening it all up a bit... just snug them back down and check once more 2- 3 weeks. .. you should be set

Korazu- This Forum is great like that. Everyone is so happy to help a fellow member out. Spazz helped me on a couple of things also.

Nice job now you can do any mod :) plus riding down the rode feels so good you do it yourself

Thanks guys for the confidence and kudos!

OH MY F'in God, Spazz! I just started her up this morning and I love the very deep and loud sound! You'll hear me going down the road for sure! However I do see one issue and not sure what the cause of it is.. I have a little plume of smoke coming up at the O2 sensors. I am not sure if it's coming from the rubber or wire around the hot metal, but nothing is laying against the pipe itself. It doesn't smell like exhaust either. I didn't get any of the anti-sieze compound on the sensors itself, so I am at a loss. I thought I would ask here, but probably call the harley shop later today. Because of that, I decided not to ride it to work today.

Thanks again!

The plume of smoke could be residue from handling the bare header.. I recall a small amoint as well.

If you like the sound of it now... just think of the Comp baffle... holy crap it is borderline obnoxious! I may get one someday...

Glad to help you out... worth saving a few hundred bucks doing it yourself

Yes it does look like the smoke was from the newness residue as it's gone now this evening when I started her up.

I am very happy with this AC and Pro Pipe combo. I can't get this sh*t eating grin off my face. Oh and holy boot scootin and bogie, she gets up and goes now. I think I got what I wanted out of this pipe with the deep rumble and the performance, instead of going with the looks of duals.

Now I have the Jac Knifes and grips to work on and awaiting still the softbrake shifters and brake pedal. I was able to install the Flare windshield before I took her out for a 40 minute ride around.

Without further ado, here she is, needing a bath, but complete with AC and pipes.

Now time to download a new map with my FP3 and tune. There is an EXACT match of my setup, so I may run with it for while... then maybe an auto-tune for fine adjustments....

Hope I helped someone out and gave a little insight. The total process (with pics ) took me about 2-2.5 hours from start to finish....not too bad for an early morning job.

So I was *thinking* about going with this pipe, but after reading this I'm getting closer to making this my choice.

A couple questions. In the above pic are you still running the stock AC filter or did you change that out and keep the stock cover?
I was thinking I just want to keep the stock AC filter because I like the looks and hate the oil filled type so is there a map on the FP3 if I want to do the pipes but keep the stock AC filter?

Thanks for any answers!
