'12 SG...my alarm, the dealer set the blinkers and she did it so fast I didn't get to see her actual method. So now I'm trying to figure out how to set audible alarm. I go through the manual sequence and nothing changes. Is my bike able to have an audible alarm? How do I set it through that crazy sequence?
Thank you for any shared knowledge
Dutch

Pretty sure you can add the alarm plug and play. Do you have a service manual for your bike ?? Or you could always take it back to the dealer and have them show you slowly this time.

My 14 SG came with factory installed security alarm. From the showroom it did not come with an audible portion of the alarm installed. I had to purchase the "siren" from Harley Davidson and install on the bike. Plug and Play, simple installation. "Smart Siren II Security System-68328-06A" $94.95

Yep, having an alarm is not the same as having an alarm siren. You probably need to buy the extra kit like GAFLXS did if you want the bike to make noise- otherwise the "alarm" just blinks and disables the starter.

You will need the siren or the little $6 piezo from an electronics store. I did a tip on this last year here on SGF.

GAFLHXS,
Thank you very much for the part number. Gonna make the investment.

You can use the $6 piezo buzzer that Mojo stated above.... does the same thing as HD'S $94 siren... your choice... I spent the $6 and the rest on more chrome...lol

Were mite I find some instruction for wiring up a buzzer I have a few loud annoying buzzers on my service truck we use on Skyjack scissor lifts

The only thing you lose with the $6 piezo is battery backup. Is that worth $100?

Mojo.... since you hooked mine up... can you let Fluffy know how to hook it up? I know it's the 3 wire connector under left side panel.... but that's all I remember! ! Lol! It's been a year already....

Fluffy - What I did with the Radioshack Piezo chirp/alarm and a pack of wire pins. You have to remove the left saddlebag and side cover. As you look inside you'll see a wired plug receptical in the upper right corner. Unplug this and you will see 3 pin outs in its end. With the 2 wires of the piezo capped with the pins I believe I plugged them into the #2 & 3 holes of the little harness and used electrical tape to seal and waterproof the connection. Next I used double stick tap to attached the chirp siren to the top of the security pad where you would normally install the factory siren. The bike will chirp at about 8 seconds after the key is off. It will also become a siren if the bike is moved without the Key fob in the near vicinity.

Thanks Mojo.... also... don't you have to check or 'turn on' (enable) the active chirp mode? I believe that's in the owner's manual.....

Yes- you have the option of disabling the chirp when turning ignition on/off. Its in the Owners manual but I can't remember which page, Manuals in TN. and I'm in CO.
