My 10 day old, 2015 Street Glide Special had the transmission go out last Friday! Anyone else have any transmission issues with these bikes? I don't know what happened inside it as the dealer is yet to open it up. Thank goodness the owner of the dealership let me ride his 2015 Ultra Limited with all the Screaming Eagle goodies you can buy! Makes me want more horsepower really bad!

fishin1789- Welcome to SGF! Sounds like someone goofed during assembly.

ps, you always want more stuff when you own a Harley!!!

Is it just me, or are the tranny's on the 2014's & 15's the loudest things ever! Maybe it's time to get rid of the stock pipes :-/

haha grumpyguy, the transmission is loud as all day but I'm coming from a sportbike so not much to compare to....luckily I swapped out the exhaust asap so I could get over the loud clunking noises from changing gears....I would definitely agree with changing the pipes, let her breathe a little bit

I had the trans and primary bearings replaced at on my 2015 with around 1200 miles. It was missing a clip in 5th gear. FISHIN was your bike giving you any trouble before it happened? At 400 miles mine started to shift like crap. Now everythings been replaced it shifts better.

Just heard from the dealership. The tranny had a retaining ring come off and trashed 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. Luckily, the tech called the MoCo for warranty and the MoCo agreed that with only 600+ miles it was best to replace the complete tranny gearset. Same housing with all new gears and bearings will be going back in it! MoCo wants to look at the old gearset. And no, I did not have any trouble beforehand. It actually shifted REALLY smooth and quiet??? A lot smoother than some other ones I have ridden. Hopefully I will be up and riding again this weekend.

My tranny has a loud whine which has been present since day one. Is this normal, or indicative of problems that are imminent? BTW, I just changed the fluids in all three holes using 20/50 conventional oil and Formula Plus in the tranny and primary.

Between the whining in first, the compensator rattle at idle, the jerky 5 mph speed travel and terrible suspension, I think they have to re-think the "Rushmore" generation of bikes. Traded in my perfect 05 Softail for this MOCO bunch of hype.

On my sgs 15 when it goes into heat management and runs on 1 cylinder it has a nock has anyone else have that

Unless you do alot of parades or long idle scenarios try disabling your EITMS system, its easy to turn on/off and is described in the owners manual. I disabled mine as soon as I got it home from Dealer.

UPDATE! Getting the bike back this afternoon! All new tranny gears, seals and bearings. A big thanks to Man-O-War Harley in Lexington for the quick service and loaner bike. Can't wait to ride my baby again!

Hated that it happened to you... but they took care of you... AND YOU GET TO RIDE TODAY!
