I converted my crappy stock headlight to the Custom Dynamics TruBEAM 7" LED headlight.

This also required the HI-LO-HALO LED HEADLAMP ADAPTER FOR 7" TRUBEAM.

I figured that since I was replacing my headlight, I might as well install the bezel I have always wanted. I went with the Black Cut V-Cut beze from Xtreme Machine.

I have to say that the install was easy enough and I love the look.

Now the problem. I took the bike out that night and could not see any light past the top of my windscreen. My windscreen is the 6.5" Klock Werks Flare in black.

I am due for a state inspection this month so I dropped by the dealership to just find out if I jacked up the alignment while doing my install. They came back and told me that the adjustment is maxed out and it is still aiming low. They say it is a problem with the aftermarket light and bezel.

Has anyone else had this problem? If you have the Custom Dynamics headlight and an aftermarket bezel, could you please tell me what you have? I am curious to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Thank you.

Yegg- I have the same headlight from CD. You very well may need to re align your headlight with the 2 adjusting screws. Luckily I did not have to.

The problem I am having is that the stealership has said the vertical alignment is maxed and the problem is with the lamp and bezel. Custom Dynamics said "WTF is the dealer talking about?!" Xtreme Machine is saying their bezel is ONLY compatible with the HD incandescent or HD Daymaker.

Something does not add up. I fail to understand what could make this combo NOT work.

My plan is to replace the new bezel with the stock bezel tomorrow and see how that works. From there I will replace the lamp with the original and install the aftermarket bezel and see how that works. This whole thing seems ridiculous (and frustrating).

For what its worth Yegg, With the new CD halo light, I found it impossible to fit the Harley aftermarket optional chrome bezel onto/over the stock bezel as I once did on my 2014 with stock OEM Streetglide headlight.

Solution / update

OK, I'm a moron....but not as dumb as the paid professionals (stealership employees).

Before heading out this evening, I decided to just take the entire thing apart and try again as the whole thing just makes no damn sense to me.

Guess what (not chicken butt)?! I did all of that, went to my evening meeting, hung out after, and then rode home.......WITH LIGHT!

The only thing I can figure out is that one of the three tabs on the back of the headlight was not seated properly. I guess I was too excited to install the thing and the technician at the dealer just did not care to even try to check things out. I mean what the hell did I expect for 90 minutes and $5.15?

So to sum up, I now have a WORKING Custom Dynamics headlight and the Xtreme Machine V-Cut bezel. Thanks for putting up with my idiocy. At least people now know that you can use that headlight and that bezel combination on a 2015 FLHXS!

Good night!

Final Update

So everything worked out fine but I really did find myself wishing I had a bit more light throw. I wound up loosening (counterclockwise) both horizontal adjustment screws three (3) full revolutions. After that I seemed to have gained about another six (6) to eight (8) feet of primary light source.
