Ok folks, let's talk noisy transmissions again. Here is a video of my 2015 SGS which has an extremely noisy tranny (at idle in neutral), that sounds really embarrassing. The weird part about it is, shifting and finding neutral have never been an issue at all. The primary has a solid 34T compensator eliminator sprocket, 30T final drive pulley, Evolution Industries billet clutch basket, AIM VP clutch and a Baker Attitude primary chain tensioner installed. The noise calms down quite a bit when the clutch is pulled in and gets louder when the clutch is released. It has been this way for quite a while now and I am contemplating tearing it apart to investigate the source of the noise and see if I can fix it. I believe it is the neutral rattle that HD claims is normal. They say some bikes are worse than others, I must have one of the worst ones. LOL. Anyone else have a tranny that sounds this loud, but still performs flawlessly?

I have a 2016 Streetglide special. Bought it last week from a friend. 1561 miles last week. drove off sounded good. made several short trips no big deal. I went for a 100 mile ride yesterday , all seemed well. This morning started it up and had a new rocker arm noise. A little later driving in the afternoon. I pulled up to a redlight and shifted to neutral and the rattle started. WTF. now I have 1775 miles and it sound like a piece of crap. And yes he had the 1000 mile service done . I found out hoe to fix the rocker arm clatter. Luckly I can do the work.. I might sell it now and get a Goldwing. TO soon for this nonsense .

On the HarleyTechTalk forum I've seen pictures of bent Baker Attitude adjusters. I'm also not sure about added loading on components with no compensator. See if there is unusual metal on the drain plug magnets.

I do have a 2018 Goldwing DCT. Wow, nice bike but kinda sterile to ride. I use it to benchmark my 2019 Heritage Softail 114. I do believe I'll have the Heritage out performing and out handling the Goldwing. With only a stage II Harley Torque cam I have more power and torque than the GoldWing and about 80 lbs less weight. I'm working on the suspension next. Ohlins has some great parts for the Softail. The M8 is a much improved engine compared to the Twin Cam. The 18+ Softail chassis way outperforms the touring bikes.
