2018 street glide pretty much stock only goes 110 anyway to change the limiter or what programers will change it?

Thundermax ecm will change that, used them in both of my last bikes.pricy ,not sure of others but I'm sure there is just don't know from experience.

Can you use someone else’s Thundermax? I have an FP3 and don’t see where this can be taken off. I was debating on getting the torque kit but if is governed I don’t see the point. I took a road trip from Dallas to Alabama with some Gold wingers and they fly passed me several times. I got it up to 110 and couldn’t go passed that.

try giving V&H a call to see if they can send you a map with the speed limiter removed.

where did you read or how did you find this out? I mean did you get it up to 110 and it wouldnt go any faster or did you see this somewhere? I just picked up my 18 SGS and would like to know about this info before i pick up another FP3 and if this will work or not.. never heard of one being limited like this before..

I found this from Fuel Moto on another forum:

Note: I unplugged the VSS as a quick, simple test on the completely stock 17 M8 bike, a test we did upon having the bike in our possession less than 24 hours, 48 hours after the new platform was released to market. Once flashed with PV we removed the speed limiter & other restrictions thru the calibration as normal. Unplugging the VSS was essentially a quick & dirty test.

I can confirm this. Actually tried it a couple times. I got the 2018 RGS and FP3.

Ok so I like FP3s and plan to get one with my SGS this year; so the FP3 will work and remove these settings as well?

Another thought.. HD would have to have a reason for having this on there dont you think? I mean other than the "safety" factor. What about engine rev limits, over heating, redlining, etc. I mean what if the 110mph is just an abritrary number but it was really a safety setting for the engine? I mean I really dont know im not really engine techy or a mechanic at all Im just throwing things out there.. i just have no idea why there would be a limiter on the speed per say...

thanks for the heads up though.

V&H FP3 will not let you remove the speed limiter. It’s governed like some cars.

Now I’m not sure if tinkering with the rev limiter and other settings will accomplish the same thing???
