A few questions

I will probably have a number of questions since I am new to a Street Glide. Here are a few to begin with.

1. For those with a GoPro, where did you mount it? My former ride didn't have a fairing so I had mounted it on the handlebars.

2. I have a Black Denim Street Glide. Is it true you can't use wax on that paint? What do you use to clean the bike?

3. For those with Gerbing, where did you put the plug? Bike is going in on Friday and going to ask them to hook up the plug.

4. Engine guard chaps - recommendations?

5. Windscreen recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

1. No GoPro.... so not much help. Google image it. Probably get some good ideas.

2. I heard no wax.... that would gloss it up a bit.

3. My heated gear plugs hang forward of the battery compartment, just rear of the back jug, behind my mid-frame air deflector. I'm thinking of a permanent mount to the plastic mid-frame air deflector.

4. Harley, Desert Dawgs..... I had a set custom made from a fella in California off eBay several years ago. They're two piece, so you can opt for full protection or remove the top portion to allow cooling air to the engine yet still block the air off your feet when it starts warming up. They were like $27 shipped to my door in East Tennessee. Search eBay with "Harley Soft Lowers" ... I'm sure his stuff will pop up.

5. I just wrote a review of my BaggerShield adjustable windshield in the Windscreen section of this forum. It adjusts in height from 8" to 14" for additional protection from the rain or cold when needed.

There are a couple threads on here about the gopro mounts do a search upper right corner. I think a lot of people are using the hogpro that mounts to the front lower cover.

I know most use stuff like windex so the paint won't shine up.

Can't help you with the plug thing but maybe some day.

Don't have chaps so no help there but a lot of people have the on here.

Windshields are a personal choice and you just have to try them. I ran one of the windsplitters for 15,000 miles and then changed to clearview and like it. Tried out a clockwerks and I wouldn't pay money for one but some people like them. Hear good things about LR and freedom shields. Most dealerships or shops that sell windshields will et you test ride one so you can make a choice.

Good luck and keep us posted

1.
2. HD has a Denim Paint Cleaner - 93600064 $8.95
3.
4. HD Soft Lowers - 57100210 $89.95
5. Cee Bailey, Long Ride Shields

I don't have a denim, so I don't know how well it works.
If you decide on HD lowers, I have a couple new sets I'm going to be listing soon.
