Amen in the poker world they would say he got a bad beat. i pray for peace in his family and friends life. They need it after losing someone so amazing. Semper Fi DEVIL DOG RIP

Stories like this give me goose bumps, a lump in the throat and a tear in my eyes. I was not in the Corps. I was in the Army for a short spell and did 6 years in the Reserves. I'm not even sure what my status is as a veteran or not, but, I regret so much not doing more time active and cannot respect men like this enough. About the only thing that chokes me up are sad or even happy military family stories or those childhood cancer commercials. Boys, I'm getting softer the older I get.

I hear ya on all that Mike!! I did not serve at all but have FULL RESPECT for those that have and do serve!! I could not finish reading all of that story cause i couldn't see my screen cause of the water in the eyes!! I to am getting so soft the older i'm getting!!!

Life has a way of altering your perspectives....

While I was serving my 20 years in the Marines... I never really gave thought to how military life affected people... we just did it... cuz that what we did.

Now... 9 years out... I get VERY choked up and even shed tears I never knew I had when I hear stories like this....

I guess we are human after all.....

I spent my 20 years in the Air Force and use to haul those brave souls to battle and had the utmost respect for each and every one of them. I get so disgusted hearing criticism for their courageous actions by the ones sending them off to do their dirty work. I lived thru the Viet Nam era and was made to feel so ashamed of being in the military that I would refuse to discuss my career with anyone.

God Bless those brave men and women for doing what most will never do......
