I purchased my 2018 SGS from my local dealer this last March and it had Magnaflow slip ons, a Screaming Eagle air cleaner, and a V&H FP3 installed before I test rode it. A couple weeks ago I started a auto tune on the FP3 and decided to not finish it and return to my last tune. At some point during the auto tune the check engine light came on, giving me an error code of P0444. This code is for the purge solenoid, I live in WA state and my bike does not have this code. I have cleared the code, flashed to stock, and it keeps coming back. I spoke with V&H and we trouble shot the FP3 and could not come up with anything. I spoke with an local independent shop and he recommended that I return to a stock tune and take the bike in for service as it sounds like it could be a bad ECM.
My understanding is that even if I reflash to stock and remove the FP3 that the Harley computer will be able to tell I have had it flashed before, is this correct? Could I purchase a Screaming Eagle tuner and they would never be able to tell that I had the FP3?
Any insight on this would be great, Thanks!!
