As delivered I did not fit well to the stock floor boards and foot controls on my ‘14 SGS. I like to keep my legs and feet close to the bike for good control feel and ground clearance in corners. I don’t want them too far forward so that I can put some weight on my feet when needed. I made some modifications and recently “ride tested” new floorboards and foot controls - a great improvement.
I changed to Baron Longboards which are longer, narrower in the rear, and adjustable for position on the bike. They get wider at the front like your feet do. I have yet to drag them in corners with 13” rear shocks on the bike. Here is a picture with the stock floorboard on top in its normal location (that's the new brake lever and pedal too).
Here you can see the mounting hardware and tapped holes in the floorboard for adjustment (what looks like holes in the black mounting bar are reflections). I tossed the hinge fasteners that came with the kit and used 1/4 inch grade 8 flanged head bolts, SAE flat washers, and flanged lock nuts. You can also see the replaceable wear plates on the bottom rear edge.
I installed a SoftBrake +1 foot brake lever which is one inch longer than stock and angled down and forward 20 degrees. I used an H-D rubber brake lever pad (the cheapest Harley part ever at $4).
Here you can see that my boot fits on the floorboard just rearward of the brake pedal pad, not under it as before.
On the shift side I extended the rear lever 2 1/4 inches with lever 47-117 from Midwest. Then I used a longer 3 1/2 inch front peg, it's a Custom Chrome Vibra-Kushion peg with a matching 2 1/4 inch peg in the rear.
Here you can see that my boot now fits between the shifter pegs. It’s a very natural heel or toe foot motion to shift now, the front peg is not way up with my foot under it. Also, my left leg is no longer forward of my right leg. The floorboard foot positions are exactly even left-to-right.
For some bling and added stiffness, you can just barely see I added the Landmark fat round chrome shifter rod with aircraft rod ends.
