After a long wait, the latest version is available. I've upgraded, no issues see so far.

I just upgraded, I can here the GPS over the engine now when using navigation she is crystal clear and this is when I'm on the pipes. Harley upgraded me for free while at there dealer event took 20 minutes. The radio sounds a tic more clear too.

The only thing I have heard about is if you update to 1.21.2.1 first, then try to up dealer maps to DLR-2017-Q2, it will not let you update dealer maps, no biggie, we all know where the dealers are, but don't pull your hair out trying to update dealer maps.

I looked at the improvements this upgrade offers and decided to skip it altogether. I've never had success upgrading the dealer firmware.

I got the dealer one done once but I forget how it had to be done. I looked yesterday and the dealer file had been taken down any way. Mojo, just curious, trading in your '17 for an '18 soon?

Hadn't thought about it at all- I've only been able to do 3,200 miles since I purchased it 8 mos. ago..

Did the upgrade yesterday and haven't noticed any difference so far. Mojo you need to give that bike a little more attention. Past 42,000 the other day and getting close to 43

I know right? I've been pretty busy this year.

I just upgraded to 1.21.2.1 and noticed a "feature change" that defies logic. I have a 2016 SGS, and can no longer view the air temp, oil pressue, etc. when the power is "off" on the radio.
Before the upgrade I could hit the info button on the right handgrip and get the display with the radio on or off.
I'm a software guy, been writing user interfaces since 1985. I cannot imagine what the software designer was thinking when he or she decided to change the software to remove this capability. Beyond dumb, and I sure hope that everyone complains enough to get the feature restored in the next update.

CoHam- Not in this version but for all 2017 tourers, they took away the actual Oil Pressure digits and replaced them with "Normal" when you check info.

I haven't upgraded in a while. No use, just like their Boom audio. I wish there was an easy after market fix. The entire interface sucks. What will it take for Harley to make a decent radio

Mojo,

At least they didn't do that to the 2016 in this version. Although the display now only works with the radio powered up, at least the display still shows the actual numerical pressure value.

Yeah, what you point out about 2017 showing "Normal" instead of the numerical value is another really stupid software modification. I really can't believe what they do sometimes. I understand why they do it when some bean-counter figures out how to save fifty cents in manufacturing cost, but a software mod that removes a good feature without any effect on cost makes no sense no matter how you look at it.

CoHam- I think they got tired of all the "Low Oil Pressure" claims and complaints.

Mojo, yeah I hear you on that. But like many others I'm getting tired of suffering because of the lowest common denominator. Rather than dumb it down for everybody, the motor company would have better served their customers by providing a brief explanation of what to expect for oil pressure values at various points of warm-up in the owner's manual. Then when people call for low pressure service the shop can ask for an explanation of their observation and refer them to the owner's manual.

Better yet, it's only software (and believe me, with 30 years of experience I know software) so they could have provided both a numetical value and "Normal" on the display.

Honestly Mojo, there is just no reasonable excuse for what they did. Making their own lives even slightly easier (but only because they didn't think about it long enough) at the cost of customer satisfaction is inexcusable.

I think, based on what others have said, I'm going to skip this update. It seems everytime I update, I lose all my saved addresses and I'm getting tired of having to reenter everything again..and again.
