Anybody know anything about removing the catalytic converter on your 14-16 bikes?

Yes, without the cat, the bike pipes run much cooler. They can be chiseled out (not recommended) but you'll never get it all out. However, there are many for sale already cut out and re-welded for sale fairly cheap. A friend of mine got his from an Exchange service. Note that your bike will run much leaner and you should probably find yourself a good auto tuner to help with the A/F ratio when you do it. Aftermarket headpipes are available like the Power Duals and True Duals. Also, Fuel Moto (Sponsor here) also sells a complete package, check em out.

I always seem to be out of sync with trends. I just put on two catalytic converters and a smaller front wheel.

Me too Hulkss- I just converted my Streetglide into an Ultra. Of course I can change it back in 30 minutes!

Is that the new EPA compliant high flow Harley exhaust?
Can you compare the exhaust note to any other exhaust?
How do you like it?

Hulkss, im curious, what made you install a smaller front wheel?

I did not like the feel of the low profile tire on the 19" rim. The 18" with the same rolling radius handles better IMHO. There are more tires to choose from on an 18" rim. I bought a take-off front wheel from a 2013 Street Glide. I picked these tires:

I removed the cat on my 13 SG and it runs so much better. Its the best thing you can do for these bikes. I basically cut the pipe in half where the cat was, drilled all that crap out and welded it back together. Cost me a case of beer to borrow the welder and a weekend of time.

Like most above have said, you can get an aftermarket header that does the same thing or find an exchange for a 1 for 1 thru someone that has already cut out the cat.

I gutted my cats also....bike runs so much better, no more hot foot. I used a long pry bar and a big hammer and tore it out. I didn't have a welder and didn't want to mess with finding someone who did. Took about an hour and I got at least 90% out...... It all works.

Bought a gutted headpipe and all the chrome for $50 bucks from a buddy. My original is in a box in the attic. Runs good, and sounds mean as hell with V&H slash ovals.
