Has anyone out there tried the Custom Dynamics Tru Beam 7" head light? I currently have J W Speakers 8700 LED and it's better than stock but I'm not in love with it. I'm trying to get some reviews on it before I spend the coin on that light. Anyone??

Thanks in Advance!! :cool::cool:

Kartracer- This is the first time I've heard of someone not happy with the JW Speaker 8700. What don't you like about it? BTW, I have the HD Daymaker.

Mojo,
The JW Speakers 8700 is good and better than stock, but I don't feel it has the side illumination that it needs, also not overly crazy about the light/bright lines in the projected light. I'm probably not explaining it well. I'm interested in the CD Tru Beam as it has projection LED's as well as Reflected Light from LED's. I'm going off of the video the CD put out, but it looks like a cleaner light. plus the total output from the CD Tru Beam is about 1800 more total Raw Lumens. But, I would like to see if anyone has one to get there opinion.

Thanks. :cool::cool:

The JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2 looks impressive as well as the Custom Dynamics TruBeam. I've heard that the CD is a whiter light though. I'm leaning toward the CD Trubeam so far.

Update: So I changed to the Custom Dynamics Tru Beam. All I can say is Wow!!! The JW Speakers 8700 was more than adequate and much better than stock, but for over all line of site, and side illumination again, all I can say is WOW. If you purchase this light, you will not be disappointed!!!

Ride Safe!! :cool::cool:

LOVE my CD headlight. Really gives me more peace of mind driving during daylight for other vehicles' ability to see me.

My biggest issue with the HD LED headlight on my Ultra is the horrible black out while turning. The headlight is such a flat beam that there is a horrible blind spot while in curves. Tons of deer on my way to work. Hard to enjoy the ride when you're clinched all the time. My auxiliaries can't cover that area either. A fuller beam would be awesome.
Any reviews on these new styles in the turns?

Buckshot the CD Halo light (both versions) is MUCH brighter than my previous Daymaker. With the Daymaker when going from dim to bright the dim LED's go out as the hibeam comes on. With the CD both low and hi LED's are on during hibeam.
There is also a new $7-800+ Adaptive light on the market that I looked at but did not like the looks of the pattern and it works based on lean angle of the bike. My BMW has those lights and they work very well when the steering wheel is turned. Question is, is it worth approximately $800 for a single headlight??

Hey, Mojo.
On CDs website page for the True Beam it says, by the harness adapters, that the Rushmore bikes have the ability to keep the low beam on while on high. So no need to buy their adapter to accomplish this. Mine also drops out the low beam. So, wonder how to change this to see if it helps.

Interesting- I was an early adopter of the Daymaker and their adapter harness. I sold them to a friend when I bought the CD Halo. Now we're both happy!:cool:

There is an adaptor required when using the CD light mostly for the Halo I believe. The side light while turning is night and day difference from the JW Speakers. I'm sold and will never go back!!! Plus it just looks Bad Ass!!

Kart-
I just installed this light on my M8. All you need for a 2014 and up is Harley's normal H-4 adapter cable. It even has the pigtail for the Halo hookup! I believe I read somewhere that the adapter ring is only required on earlier models.

Mojo, I drank the koolaid and ordered the CD wiring adaptor as well when I got the light. Your correct that the Harley version I had would have worked fine.

I plan to install CD when I goto Myrtle beach bike week next month. What is that headlight called by CD ? Also if I get one with smoke lens, will it throw less light compared to plain lens ? Thx

True Beam Halo, the smoked lense version may reduce brightness by a small fraction of Lumins. They don't say but it would be negligible.
