Tradition has it that Harleys (& other brands too) have a small guardian bell attached somewhere, usually on the frame. It’s considered bad luck if you buy your own bell and usually a significant other or good friend makes the purchase for you as a gift. Recently a Marine Vet and his wife surprised me with one engraved with the US Marines on it. Now . . . I’m a US Army Veteran but my daughter is in a serious relationship with a four year Marine Vet at her college as part of the Yellow Ribbon Program. We love this guy and I couldn’t have written a checklist for a better man for her to be with! I will proudly ride with this new bell on my scoot from a couple I consider to be dear friends!

That is Awesome Mojo!!! I too run a guardian bell. My wife bought mine when we got the glide. She was so worried i wouldn't like it but it's got a Red Skull on it & the glide is Ember Red Sunglo!!!

Mojo,
That my friend is a sick bell I love it. I also run a bell that was bought for me by my big brother when I bought my first Harley in 2004 I have put it on all 3 of the baggers I have had.

Always have to have the guardian bell provided by a friend or significant other and a good friend gave me one for my last bike. Wife got me a new one for Red and I left the other one for my sons to use when riding my other bike. It's wonderful to have friends that care that much for you Mojo and we should all check our friends bikes to be sure they are protected with a bell.

Just my 2 cents

Well lets see that Marine Corps bell too, a few of us around here.

I kinda like the one that is grenade shaped personally, dont know why.

Tom I am with you there we should all be checking our buddies bikes. I saw one at work missing one a few months ago. So even though he gets under my skin sometimes I still went and bought him a bell. Just the right thing to do.

Amen Jay! And what a wicked scoot you have, you shook up Broad St in Nevada City Saturday.

I couldn't have said it better, Mojo.... after seeing ( and hearing ) BaggerJay's sled... I felt like I was sportin a Vespa... LOL! I'm sure there were some words said... but Lord knows we would have never heard them as he tore up Broad St... LOL

About the bell... Glad you like it, Mojo.... it was the least I could do....

I have a USMC Guardian Bell that was given to me by a Navy Vet... I, in turn got him a USN Guardian Bell.... There is nothing more important than this that can be bought for a friend who rides.

Thank you mojo it's still needing some love. But I don't think we ever finish that is the greatest part about them. Works in progress (just like us fools that ride and love them) it's was a pleasure to meet you guys up there and have lunch hopefully we can do it again sometime. On the other side it's always nice to rattle a town a bit lol

After 31 years of riding, a GOOD friend of mine got me this. I remember asking people to buy me one in the past and nothing happened. Finally found a true friend. hahaGB.jpg

Well according to the legend the lower to the ground they are the better they protect. Found 2 nice places very low to hang them with split rings. Leather will rot sooner or later.
