Anyone have any particularly handy tips or tricks for loading/unloading into truck bed? My truck isn't raised, but it IS a 2500HD and sits a little higher than half tons, making it a little trickier for ramping. Anyone use Rampage truck bed lift system?

I think a co-worker use that to load his Dyna in f150. I just trailer it..

I have done this with a Dyna. It was so much fun, I promptly bought a trailer. If I had to do again, I would find a way to level things, a loading dock or ditch, some kind of incline like a walk out basement...if I had to use a ramp again, heaven help me, it will be as wide as the tailgate. And lots of friends. I hauled once in a horse trailer using pales of hay to hold the bike. Buy a trailer. Sleep better...LOL

I know to some this is no big deal, but my bike represents an investment and cherished item. Getting my bike into the back of a truck turns my stomach.

Haha right there with ya brother.. it's crossed my mind a few times, until I see the YouTube fails. I found a great local trailer I rented 3 times now. Buddy is thinking of buying it.

I agree, a trailer is the whay to go however as Foch suggested it's easiest to back a pickup into a ditch or uneven ground and wheel the bike in that way. The weakest link is the tailgate.
If you are going to run the bike up a ramp push it with at least two people. Never ride up or your up $h!t creek

I hauled a buddy's Zero electric bike once (don't even get me started). It STILL took 3 of us to lift it in the truck bed. When home we angled the tailgate in his sloped driveway.
Still was a PITA.

I use a 6X10 enclosed trailer when I transport mine and it works great. Make sure you get a good tire chock/lock to secure it in. Have never had an issue with mine moving but I also tie it down forward and aft just to be sure. The investment was steep to start but t's paid for it's self and a lot of friends have used it to transport for different reasons. If you shop around you can pick them up pretty cheap sometimes and I'm in the market for a bigger at least 18 feet by 8.5 to transport the wife's spider and my bike south during the winter months.

If you buy a trailer, I'd get a trailer big enuf to haul yer firewood too...a single purpose trailer doesn't make sense to me.
