Engine code 651

I have a 18 sgs and its throwing a code 651 5 volt reference 2 out of range. Anyone know what this means? Or where I should start looking? Is it throttle control related? I do have 12" bars on it with the harley wire extension. Not sure if that might be it

This whats in the diagnostic manual for my 2015.

Well I swapped out the tgs and tmap. That did not fix the problem. So I reinstalled the stock ECU and all the codes went away. So I'm leaning towards the thundermax ecu being the problem. I will ride it more and report back. Thanks for the help!

Didn’t know you had a ThunderMax tuner. How long have you had it? Might be worth a call to them to see if they can help or if the unit is still under warranty. Did you try to clear the code in the ThunderMax before going back to the stock ECM?

I've only had it for about 3 months. And yes I had the laptop hooked up about 3 times attempting to clear the codes. I tried without replacing any parts. Then I tried to clear it with just a new tgs sensor. Then with just a new tmap installed. And then with both a new tgs and tmap installed. It would clear and say "ok" under current and historical. The check engine light would shut off and then code would return within 2-3 seconds. I sent thundermax a email about it. So we will see what they say. I have about 200 miles on the stock ecu and no codes ha e returned. Thanks for the help! And happy 4th!

Did you have to go back to the stock O2 sensors? I’ve not experienced any problems from my ThunderMax tuner and it has performed well for me so I hope you get some good action from them regarding your issues. Have a safe and Happy 4th.

Yes I had to swap back to the stock o2 sensors.
