I just installed my extended rear brake lever (2" longer). Wow, I gotta say there's so much real estate now! Between that and my extended floor boards it's terrific. No more having to lift my right leg up to use the brake.
Install was pretty straight forward. 45 min to an hour, and that's going slow.

Which one did you get? I want at least an inch longer and down. I was just at bike week and the one vendor I found with em wanted $110 (baker custom)

I was looking at the soft brake but...

1) $150 for a brake lever is a little up there for me
2) they state you need a floorboard spacer but searching their website for the item number listed in the levers description returns no results for spacers.

Obviously their web site has some quirks. For instance when selecting the year of your bike, the years are sorted by item quantity, not chronological.

I have the floorboard extenders and the extended brake lever. FANTASTIC!!!! I have so much real estate. I think I have the soft brake. Law Abiding Biker website does a video on the conversion. Very, very good. Shows that the direction that comes with the brake lever are useless, which is correct. Their's has a zerk on it to use a greese gun to lube it. Mine didn't, just put lube in when I installed it.

I'm 6' (when wearing boots, hahaha) and it feels great. And easy switch with basic tools, including torx with the crazy Harley sizes.

So no floorboard spacer required?

I ordered a kuryakyn brake pedal. Should be here tomorrow. Trying to find a plain black shift lever that's 1" longer than stock to help even things out, but I guess I'm being too picky.

Take a look at the links I left. There are some in black too! Not being picky. My last bike I spent all the work blacking it out so I know where you're coming from.

No floorboard spacer needed. But you need to remove the floorboard to install the brake lever.

OK thanks. I was looking mostly on ebay and Amazon to keep the price down. I have an Amazon purchased shift lever that's about 2" longer but it's chrome (had it on my 14 as heel and toe, but removed the heel shifter before it was wrecked). There's some cheap black edge cuts that I might get, and I think 1" will be perfect for me. I don't think it will be an issue on the 18, but on my 14 that +2" shift lever turned into a jackhammer at high rpm. You could call it a 'tactile shift indicator' when it starts beating on your shoe, it's time to shift!
