Hey so I have a 2014 sgs with 15,000 miles on it. Currently I have a stage one intake and CFR kos. After contacting Vance and Hines I was told to use the map for the "hi output" slipons and hiflow air filter. I then set up the auto tuner and rode it for about 400 miles. The bike runs good and strong. The problem is that when I'm cruseing and then hammer on it it pings for about 1-2 seconds and then it goes away. I live in California and I'm running 91. I emailed v and h and I was told that it's "normal" and that when hammered on, the bike is pulling timing until the pin stops. So my questions are. 1 is there anything I can do in the tuner to fix this? And 2nd if I can't fix this am I doing any damage to the bike? Thanks again everyone.

I would change the program if it pings too much. I always bought Power Commanders in the past. They always worked flawlessly. BUT, this time i bought the FP3, just to try one. I hope I don't have issues with it.
Anyway, with the PC, I changed 2 or 3 programs before I decided on one. When it's right, it's right! One thing to remember, If you live in a HOT or HIGH altitude, these things aren't as easy. I know when we go out west to the heat and higher elevations, the octane is a lot more important. Even with the Auto-tuner, once in a while you would get a little ping, momentarily. Mostly with less than 93 octane.

Are you still running auto tune? If so that may be the issue. The tune needs to be applied to the ECM.

I was just going to ask that... Did you FINISH the tune and FLASH? This will have affects on your performance if still in AT..

When you say cruising.... how fast? What's your RPM? I will assume you are in 6th.

4 gear, 5 gear, 6 gear. Say cruseing at 3k and then hammer on it. It pings then stops. But if I roll on easier it doesn't ping.

Mine did that last month when I first installed it. I played with the throttle sensitivity and decal popping and it went away and have better throttle. I don't know if I'm just masking the problem or one of those settings corrected the issue. Either way it's gone and don't have any popping on deceleration. Remember the good thing about this programmer is you can play with setting and always go back to where you were.
