Ok, so i did the rear ( air ride ) and I'm noticing that the front really could be a lot smoother every time i ride thru town on a bumpy road my hands get jerked around to the point that my throttle hand is pulling on the throttle and and it sounds like I'm giving it gas letting off and giving it more gas and with loud pipes it actually sounds kinda dumb like I'm doing it on purpose, i hear the progressive mono tubes will only get rid of the nose dive and maybe make it more stiff , I've also been told to change out the oil but I'm not fully convinced that will help much , any one else with this problem ? , i hate to trade it in after i stuck a ton of money in to it.

I had the monotubes in mine, wasn't really impressed. If I was you I would change to Screamin Eagle heavy weight fork oil. That will improve the ride. Worst case if you don't like it your only out like $50 and a few hours of your labor, but I'm pretty sure you will like it.

I'm having a hard time...no pun intended....with the ride on mine. Changed the rear shocks last year and did improve a lot over the terrible stock adjustable. Had the bike out yesterday and Long Island roads are bad which almost felt like the bike had no suspension. Was thinking about changing the front tire and wheel to a 17", like the road king....more rubber height. But that becomes very expensive. I'll probably take a king for a demo ride first...as if I was trading mine in. I definitely will change the fork oil...makes sense.

I guess it's the cheapest alternative BUT i was hoping to hear a few guys say i put these on and wow what an improvement. You would think going with a heavier weight would just make the shocks even more stiffer, maybe I'm missing something.

My bike rides fine with the standard height H-D cartridge damping kit installed. Never rode it any other way.

I see you have an FP3. One way this device makes you think you have more power is by changing the sensitivity of the throttle. Yours is too sensitive. Hook up the FP3 and change the throttle settings back to the H-D standard settings. Making it more sensitive is completely uncalled for.

Why would this be changed with a map? That makes no sense, since they (V&H) caution you not to change it, unless you are on a track or have a safe area to test the throttle response.

I changed mine to the medium setting, the only downfall i found was, when you let off the throttle even a little, its a rapid drop off.
If you have ever felt turbo lag, thats what the stock throttle setting feels like.

Ever since throttle by wire entered the Automotive world, people have been trying to figure out how to stop or correct that Lag feeling. No different here.

Kinda late on this conversation but just my two cents: Ride a '14 SGS and love the bike after upgrading the intake, exhaust (V&H 2-1), lighting, etc. One aspect of the bike that disappointed me was the stock suspension. As a long time BMW rider (R's and K's sport touring types), the HD SGS was a rough ride and a marked downgrade on Oahu's rough surface streets and freeways. A riding buddy and I changed the rear to Progressive 970's (separate reservoir) and the Progressive Front Monotube Cartridge Kit. Between the front and rear, huge upgrade in smoothing out the rough roads, an end to front end diving, much better control when scraping the footboards and riding a little more assertive (within the parameters of the style of bike, naturally) much more pleasant ride all around. The front installation was not hard, but one needs to take particular care to keep all the harnesses in order as the front end of the bike was completely disassembled. Rides like a dream and love my bike. Now, if I can just get the local cagers to stop texting and driving, I just may survive this tour in HNL.SGS Progressives-3.jpgSGS Progressives-1.jpgSGS Progressives -2.jpg
