gauge backlighting

2019 Streetglide Special - the gauge backlighting is terrible. I can read the gauges in the garage with the door down and the overhead light off, so there is some functionality, but the gauges can't be read at dawn or without some other light hitting the gauge face. Is this a problem for my bike or is it a problem for others as well? I can't find any reference to gauge lighting in the infotainment menu or the manual. Anyone recommend aftermarket solutions? http://www.gaugemods.net/ and http://harleygaugemods.com/ are two of the places that mod gauges that I know of, haven't used either but one day will change mine out.

believe its to do with a light sensor.... was the VERY first question I asked, on the first evening out on my bike.
Thought the dash lights weren't working, as I couldn't read the dials correctly....as it got darker they got better

best move was switching to Dakota Digitals, you can pick your colours and they are readable ALL the time IMHO
