Not starting another oil thread. Not looking for brands, weights, etc. Not looking to start arguments etc LOL. Just wondering how many people on here use a GL5 rated gear lube in their 6 speed transmissions on their newer bikes? I've read so many conflicting issues dealing with them. Looking for pros, cons, successes and failures etc. Thanks in advance, Ken

Was just gonna switch to Spectro Platinum 75-140 6Spd. Whadja hear?

I meant to type opinions not issues, sorry. Just opinions on the GL5 having too many additives and not being good for the Harley transmissions and you shouldn't use anything over a G4 etc. I did however read a lot of positive comments on the one you are considering and on their site it says they have additives to counteract the damaging to "yellow metals" in transmissions. But then there are a lot of people saying that it doesn't effect Harley transmissions because they don't have and yellow metals in their transmissions etc. Seems the GL5's dominate now and are easy to buy in any auto part store from several manufactureres and don't have to be ordered. I'm considering Mobile One 75w90 but can only find the LS now which is a GL5.

No worries.
I usually Don’t pay attention to all the “stories “.
But, first hand accounts with a complete back story are note worthy.

I have been using Spectro 6 speed, in my '01 FXDX (5speed) for 25K with no issues and I also use it on my '12 FLHX 6 speed with no issues.

I also use the 6 speed in a 1968 Ford toploader with brass syncros and have zero issues.

I see no reason to worry.

Ken
