So I bought a flush stainless steel waterproof switch , $8 plastic box and used a full size door opener. Soldered a couple of wires from the button pickups on the PC board to the switch and its complete. Its nice to turn onto my street and hit the button and the door is open by the time I roll up the driveway.

CA . . . but don't you have to remove the outer firing to change the battery??

Not at all that one is 12 volts. Plus how often does the battery need to be changed ?

Seen this many times.... GREAT!!! I was gonna go this route until a brother gifted me an HD GDO....

I was using the A23 as a reference for the remote. If the remote uses that battery it there for is a 12 volt remote.

I did a similar hookup except I used a push button and waterproof rubber cap(Purchased on ebay). Installed it in the front brake clamp. You have to have access to a milling machine to mill out the back of the cap so the button fits in from the rear. It's nice because you can just push it with your thumb, not having to take your hand off the grip.DSCN1097.jpgDSCN1096.jpgDSCN1093.jpg

That's a pretty slick set-up you got. I may do something like that...but for now my remote fits fine in the little glove box beside the radio.

I did something like that with my Softail, drilled a hole on the side of the tank console, it was chrome and so blended in but yet was very close. Worked out pretty swell....now I just velcro'd my remote to my fairing...until someone gifts me a HD GDO....
