FINALLY, had a great day for a ride here in CO. Mid 60s and sunny, but it did take awhile to warm up from the overnight low. I took my lady out for a group ride with a bunch of guys who have old skool choppers/rat bikes/bobbers and such. While a nice shiny '14 SG was a little out of place in the group I wasn't complaining (and a few other guys showed up on Harleys/Vics).
I LOVE my new bike! Since I bought it back in Novermber I haven't had much opportunity to get out and ride it aside from a few short hops here and there...but yesterday I finally got some miles on.
Started out with a cruise through Garden of the Gods park and then we were off to our lunch stop east of town. While we were cruising down the highway at 75mph I know the FLHXS wanted to go a lot faster but the other bikes we were with were probably maxed out. My only complaint with the Street Glide is that she can be a b!tch to back up in a rough dirt parking lot...I got stuck in a small dip about a bike length forward from where everyone else parked, and she stayed there.
We bailed from a group ride early and did our own thing for the rest of the day. I bought my GF some chaps finally and tried some new beers at a couple of our favorite craft breweries. Made it home just in time for a quick dinner before our date night at the comedy club (we took my truck for that)
Now I am really anxious to finally bid farewell to winter...this is a rough time of year in Colorado, I literally heard this forecast on the radio: "high's in the 60s, windy and a chance of show showers". When the good days come, we take full advantage of them bucause until about May there's no guarantee that the next day will be nice too.
Anyway, hope you all get to ride a bit this weekend, ride safe, have fun!
