Half Helmet

I like the light weight Vega carbon fiber and I also have a SENA Calvary. For long trips or riding at high speeds I always carry earplugs as well.

Look at Akoury helmets.

https://akouryhelmets.com/

They are advertised as smallest DOT helmets on the market. I was looking for a small light weight helmet. Came across the Akoury brand. I wear mine 99% of the time and will always have one as an option

I have a Daytona leather half helmet. I like it because it has the quick release buckle on it.

Ride Eazy SOA Inspired DOT certified helmet. Smallest DOT helmet I've found so far. Looks like one of my novelties when I'm wearing it. People trip out when they see it's DOT. Sizing chart is accurate. $79.00

Second vote for Bikerhelmets.com I own three of them. The Gloss black SOA inspired beanie for myself and my wife. And the Carbon Fiber SOA inspired beanie. Very light weight, no mushroom look and DOT approved.28167749_10215789344516587_7569091628114989328_n.jpg

Thank you all for your inputs. I have learned of other helmet brands I was not familiar with. I ended up buying an HD helmet because it fit my needs and was available (I am leaving Tuesday for a trip). Other options I explored were:

- Ordered a Bell Pit Boss, but it was too small and gave me serious mushroom head.
- Ordered a Vega Road Warrior only to learn they are backordered until April 30. I am not convinced this is the same Vega helmet others recommended.
- The Akoury helmet I liked is backordered until May 31.

Again, thanks for the inputs.

I ran a 1969 Bell shorty for years. I tried numerous helmets but never could find one that would work. Then I paid$185 for a new carbon fiber helmet when they came out. In order for it to stay on my head over 60mph, I had to cinch it down way too tight.
I lucked out with the world's smallest DOT from biker Bob's in Canada. Now they have a US setup at www.bikerhelmets.com
I have since bought 4 of them. Best damn helmet I've ever seen. Don't wing it, follow thier sizing instructions to the letter and you'll be fine.

I have used an Akoury helmet for the last 3 years and I am very happy with it. A friend of mine also purchased one and he does not go anywhere without it now.

I second the worlds smallest dot helmet. Super comfortable, lightweight and it fits perfectly in saddlebags.

Just be aware that some of the cheaper ones chinstraps ride on your adams apple. Ya wont like that so try one on before you buy if possible.
