So I've been studying and talking to the "experts" and I've discovered something. Unless you take your bike to a competent tuner with a dyno, you're leaving hp/torque on the table. Don't misunderstand, I've been reading and have a pretty good understanding of what goes in to a good tune. All that said, next Monday afternoon I'm going to load up my bike and take it to Brandon at J&B performance in Mohawk Tn. Why? Because these guys do it day in/day out and their record proves they know what they're doing. I could spend months and hundreds on tuners and time trying to get the optimum tune for my 103. At the end of the day, it's what makes the bike owner happy....right? And after reading and applying what I've learned there's one thing for certain. I may know a lot about AFR and VE tables, but without a dyno what are you measuring your tune against. For me.....I'm gonna drop the cash down and let the pro's do what they do best. Stay "tuned", pun intended! I will post my dyno sheet and my results next week when I get home. Wish me luck....something tells me luck is beside the point with this dyno tune! It's not cheap.....but what's the alternative? Buy a TTS/PV and piddle around for the next several months until I get what I think is a good tune? At least with this I'll know exactly where I am on my tune..:
