I would like to hear your experience on heated grips. I was going thru the harley catalog and saw few. Not sure which one to pick. What is your experience ? Shud I stick with harley or are there any good after market ones ?

I've done both the Harley factory grips on my 14 SGS and had done the Heat Demons with 100th anniversary stock grips on my 03 RK and I'll say that I absolutely prefer the heat Demons by a HUGE margin. They were easier to install and worked MUCH better.....heated up faster, I could control them without removing my left hand from the grip and I could use them with any grips I wanted to use (Harley or otherwise) as they went under the grips and had a great switch set-up that looked very much like it belonged on the handlebars.
My Harley grips take much longer to heat up, do not get as warm (Heat demons morphed from the snowmobile industry) and failed within 3 months on installation, and while I got a replacement from the dealer under warranty, I had to take the whole damn bike apart again to replace the control grip and run the new wiring harness back to the hook-ups near the battery...........Harley grips have a reputation for high failure rates so I was hoping I wouldn't be a statistic......but I was.
Having said all that I will not own another touring bike without heated grips.........and this coming from someone who lives in a town that hit 119* today and is typically in the 60's and 70's in the winter......it's so much easier than wearing gloves
