We just bought a 2015 2500 HD Duramax to pull our 34ft travel trailer. We had a 2006 1500 Silverado but the wife didn't think that is was big enough so she wanted a bigger truck. Now I want to know if anyone hauls there Street Glide in the back of there truck.
I've done some searching on the web but didn't see anything that I liked. I need some ideas.
Thanks

I would have gotten a 1 ton to haul a 34' trailer with a 800+ pound motorcycle in the back.

Jmeadows, I would take a look at the max GVW which i am certain is far more than 900#, add your trailer weight at the hitch (tongue weight or 5th wheel). you should have plenty of gross weight to spare for the payload. just dont exceed your rear axle weight ( approx 6000#). it will feel a little squirrelly at highway speed without suspension upgrade, it should be fine though. chevy spec sheet has the details

I pull a 34 ft 5th wheel and have been looking for a mount for the rear of the trailer but haven't found anything I trust just yet. That trailer your pulling is a 34ft bumper pull JMeadows ??. And did you get a long bed or short bed ??

The Pickup weights 7,680 lbs, max weight of trailer it can tow is 16,400 lbs ,GCWR is 24,500 lbs. GVWR 10,000 lbs, GAWR Front 5,600 lbs, GAWR Rear 6,200 lbs.

Shipping weight of the trailer is 7,560 lbs with carrying cap at 1,440 lbs. 9,000 total, hitch weight on trailer is 980 lbs.

Street Glide weights 810 lbs.

I think that I am within the weight limits. I wanted to know if some one used a motorcycle carrier or did they use ramps.

Two words. Toy Hauler.

This is my wife's trailer, she bought me my Street Glide & then she got her trailer. She made me buy the new Duramax to tow her trailer I'm just trying to figure out a way that I can take my Street Glide with us when we take the trailer.

Bumper pull, we bought it last year when we had the 1/2 ton with the 5'8" bed, this one is a Long bed.

This would work behind a Motor Home but I don't think that it will behind a pull trailer

I would say install a receiver hitch on the back of the camper and use a wireless remote camera to keep an eye on things. Most bumper pull campers don't have a heavy duty enough frame to allow this though.

I would think you could haul it easy depending what you come up with to load the bike. There are several attachments you can buy to pick the bike up and then it loads it for you. But then that will add more weight to haul. The ramp thing riding in and out is always a little scary depending on how where you load and unload.

Good luck buddy

If you are happy that the truck can haul the load,I would put it in the bed
Before I got my class c RV and trailer I took the bike in the back of the truck.(when we rented condos and houses)
I got a 3 piece aluminum ramp where each piece folds in half
the three pieces tie together with supplied tiedown straps and the ramp then is tied off to your hitch chain loops and riding your Glide with feet down up and in/back and off is a safe one man operation
locking wheel chock pushed up against bed front wall and ratchet tied to bed D rings in front and tie downs looped around back tire to the rear D rings in the bed rear,
Bike is upright strap pressure is pulled foward to bed wall, you are x-country ready
If you shake the bike ,the truck suspension moves.
I have seen some of the most bizzar set ups in my travels
Everything from sideways ,to on the kickstand, to loose ribbons ties the front forward and the back, backward.
layers of safety are the piece of mind I want and the set up I used gives you every thing except a clean bike on arrival.
oh ya covering you bike will ruin your paint from wind whipped covers.
If it gets dirty just pretend you were riding it in bad weather,LOL
ramps folded up can either be stored in bed along the sides or in one of your cargo holds
Good Luck

Your wife can pull the trailer while you ride the bike. As long as you trust her. Lol
