I do love my hog, but after riding my BMW R1200RTP as a motorcop, I was spoiled with the suspension and the comfort of the the ride. Am I the only one who think if you drop 26k on a bike, you deserve outstanding suspension?

I broke down and bought a RT. Rode to work the other day, and the ride was heavenly. My hog has its place, but I just don’t think there’s a more comfortable bike out there. I’ll pull out the hog on Sunday’s. My everyday ride will be this

Those are nice! Don't they make something like 160 rwhp? I sure wouldn't mind owning one, although I would probably have to modify the suspension, so that I would be able to touch the ground.

Very nice! I just sat on a few bikes today, including a concours, r1200 and k1600. The Connie felt too tall and just bland. R1200 was sure nice but the k1600 (k16b grand Americas) was just... Wow. Seat felt amazing, and it had boards out front. If the r12 had a softer seat I probably would have loved it. Both beemers were low enough to feel very comfortable on and the bars didn't feel like they forced me forward.

I'll have to ride one some day. I always figured if those troopers can sit atop one all day, they must be pretty good.

PS, what happened to the st13? From what I can tell Honda hasn't made them since 2012

I think they discontinued them, haven’t seen a new one since. But yea, bmw has done somethin right.

Don’t get me wrong though, Harley has its place, and I’ll probably never give mine up, but I think they gotta come into the 21st century with some of the current tech that’s out here, and for the love of all that’s sacred, and all backs, please invest in R&D and come up with better suspension. If Legends can do with their resources, I’m sure Harley could.

I love the simplicity of my Harley and think it’s a great bike. But having owned 2 BMW’s in the past (a K1200GT and an R1200RT) there really is no comparison as far as comfort and performance. Comparing a BMW and a Harley is like a Stealth Fighter jet against a Cessna.

But having said that, I still prefer the Harley. It has a “soul” that the BMW doesn’t and even though it’s much slower and heavier, I like riding it more. I miss some of the bells and whistles of the beemers, but it’s kind of a throw back to my younger days riding the Glide.

Well said....well said. I agree though, there’s something timeless about a Harley...

I’ve legends suspension and still hate the ride. I like the bike but hate the damn suspension. I had Indian Chieftain, and loved the suspension. It was a plush ride. SG fits me better but sure don’t like the suspension. I’m thinking of beemer but they are too tall for me.

Yea, they are pretty tall. But, as a training habit I always have my right foot on rear brake, so my left is planted fully on the ground. Other than that I’m on my tippy toes lol

All the troopers in my area sit atop Harley's. I have two friends with BMW's that I have ridden but I just don't put them in the same class as any HD, they just are different in every way other then having two wheels. With that being said have you ever seen a hot chick on the back of a BMW??? They might as well put a solo seat on those things!

I have ridden a few different bikes throughout the years and have a 1989 FXRS as well as a 2014 SGS now. Before the SGS, I purchased a used R1150RT BMW.
What I liked: the adjustable windshield via handlebar switch. The layout of all controls. The brakes and transmission.
What I did not like: Sitting on "top" of the BMW vs sitting "INTO" the FXRS and the SGS. Foot controls are back further on the BMW vs SGS and FXR with forward controls. Found Harley's more comfortable.
And last; The soul of the Harleys vs BMW in my humble opinion.

There's nothing like feeling the wind in your hair, the sun on your face and the road in your a$$.....that's what I love about Harley's.....you get the full-road experience. (And if you like bugs on your face, ditch the windscreen....)

Yep, that is all that needs to be said, I'll never switch..lol

No Harley motors here.. Phoenix still has old st-13s. Some cities use concours, others (and troopers) have r1200rt. Apache junction actually has victory cross country's!

Those new Hondas sure look nice. Bags are a little smaller, and unfortunately so is the gas tank. They probably figure no one wants to ride for 4 hours non-stop, but I like to choose when I stop.
