I'm union and damn glad the right to work is here. Doesn't mean I'm jumping ship, yet, but, when the union works for the employer and I pay the dues, I call BS. Maybe they will get their head out of their backside and wake up. Just had a union meeting Monday after the signing. Our union just hired a full time lobiest besides the hundreds of thousands of dollars that go towards political party campaigns. More BS. They say they are fighting for our rights. They want us to have all these rights, but this one. Sounds like self preservation to me. Their worried about revenue loss and my business rep said as much at the meeting. He said if enough people drop out it could mean his job. What a great thing to be supporting this particular union.

Nevada is a right to work state also and you just tell the union's to piss off. Not needed anymore as employers pay more and better benefits to keep them out.

They sure don't pay more to keep unions out here. They use scare tactics.

The place I used to work nonunion the owners would can ppl left and right for stupid stuff like wearing a hooters hat or the office girls showing any cleavage hell I got demoted because I was making more money then the managers were. When the place runs 7 days a week and you put in the hours I did your going to make some change and I got shafted for it.

The place I work now. Is union you would be astonished at some of the things the owners/management try to push through in negotiations. Things like no health care. Work any shift on any given day (so you could work 1st then 2nd then 1st shift second shift gets off at 2am if we are lucky first shift starts a 6am 4 hours off between shifts.) revolving work week ( no set work week.) over time until after 100 hrs in 2 weeks time frame, replace Union employees with temps for vacations (do you want untrained homeless temps making the OJ your kids drink in the morning?) and countless other ideas

I'm not your typical entitled union employee. I understand the company needs to make money before we do or we won't have jobs Union or nonunion. The entitlement attitude pisses me off.

I show up to work 1.5 hours early every day do everything I can get done. If I'm asked to stay late I do if not I go home.
I like unions because it provides checks and balances on both sides of the table.

I was asked to be a steward and I refused because. A to many of the guys are there for a check and really don't give a sh!t.

We have 35 Union employees only 10 show up at contract negotiation meetings and 8 showed up to vote.
