Installing new speakers

Does anyone know how to remove the speaker boxes on 2015 SGS and what is the best tool to use. Looking to replace stock speakers myself.

Just have a couple of beers, some good music and patience. It isn't really hard, but 2 of the bolts are hard to get at (open ended wrenches). Plan on a couple of hours.

I don't know why they used so many bolts in a 2 pound box. It's almost as if they used German engineering. If anyone has ever worked on German cars they know what I mean.

I have a set of Craftsman shorty wrenches that worked really well..that and small hands

If you look at the biketronic website, their speakers use a metal bracket that replaces the speaker boxes.

7/16"ratchet wrench
1/4" drive 7/16" shallow socket
1/4" drive universal swivel joint
1/4" drive 3" and 6" extension
1/4" ratchet

12 pack beer

Pen and paper - - to write down the new nasty words you thought of when getting those last two bolts outs

Not sure if this is the same for the 6.5, i have the 4.3...but there are 2 plastic push pins that hold a plastic wire holder under the head unit. I disconnected the wire harnesses that go to that and pulled that out (easier to do than it is to type up and describe). With that out, then it is very easy to get to those "difficult" bolts. I had all the room to put my hand in there under the head unit and use sockets.

yeah.. any harnesses you can move out from under the HU ( out of your way ) will make it easier....
