J&M kit #JHAK-HC06-1802SP

Anyone install this kit on their ride? How hard/easy is the install? I emailed John but have not got a response.

Looks like a pretty good deal... I have not installed one, but it's not that hard.. done many full systems on cars/trucks. Have you had your outer fairing off? IF not... get in there and take a look around and see where everything is at beforehand to get an idea.

Key note here.... it's designed for YOUR deck.... that's a plus and take any guesswork out. I don't know anything about the `13's HK head unit.... sorry.....

Buckshot85, look up Harley Davidson bagger stereo up on Facebook, looks of good info on speakers and amps there. I too can't help you on your bike, but you will find most guys run either Focal or Hertz speakers.

Thanks Spazz. I have had the outer off and looked around some. I'm basically looking for more volume on the slab and better sound at that. Don't need to shake the neighborhood. These speakers are supposed to be waterproof also. And being a '13 I should not need a flash if my research was correct. Bryan, thanks for the tip, but don't do Facebook. I have been searching awhile for a system and would like one built for my bike without having to set gains and whatnot. I am an educated maintenance man and do complete factory machine and building repairs of all sorts. My point is when I get home after turning wrenches all day that's the last thing I want to do at night. Plug and play, baby. Thanks guys for the input.

Looks like a straight-forward install with no real complications to deal with....

Polka are another speaker to check out, that's what I went with, picked them up from Best Buy for about $100. I use a Rockford amp and it sounds great. It was all plug and play for me. Not saying that the J & M's are bad just want you to see there are other options.

Fair enough. Thanks. You got part numbers? What year is your scoot?

Mines a '14, the Rockford amp is PBR 300x4 and the Polk speakers are DB651. I also used a cycle sounds magic box , which you don't need since you have a '14.

The magic box plugs right into my radio and provides RCA connections for the amp and for the output I just ran new speaker wire. I know there and more options for your bike if you don't want to do that. Here is a short video of my radio.https://vimeo.com/103639344

Slick video. Thanks Bryan for the help. I have a tour pak for mine so I have been debating on getting rear pods somewhere. Then maybe getting the x4 amp a couple more speakers later.

No problem, that's what we are here for. I meant to get a 2 channel amp, but ordered a 4 channel by accident which will be good later since I want speakers in my lids.
