I had the RoKKer Extreme 4 speaker set up. It was 500 watts, Now its 630 I believe. I put it on my 14 SGS and ran it for about 2 years, then sold the bike. I now have a 17 SGSE and am pretty happy with the new Boom II it has. Here is my honest opinion:
Pro's
1. Its expensive, but with the 15-20% discount John offers to forum members its hard to beat at the discounted price point.
2. It was all plug and play with decent directions. If you can perform a tune up on a car or bike you can do the install.
3. Good customer service pretty much at all hours. John will even answer emails sent directly to him. Don't confuse the Northern attitude with pissy - lol
4. Very loud and clean
5. Lifetime warranty on all
Con's
1. Not a lot of bass. I heard that they changed the speakers with the new system and it improved but not a witness
2. Blew 1 rear speaker 2 times (different speakers) no issues with replacements. 1 email and new speakers were on their way overnight. They send new as pair, change them out, put them back in the box and ship them back with provided shipping label. I was told that I would get replacement speakers in January to the upgrades for my troubles. I traded in December so never pursued.
3. I was heading to Bike Week and set up an appointment to have them Fine Tune the installation as John recommended to maybe get the better sound as well as stop popping speakers. I also brought them a 1100.00 sale with a buddy. Charged me full price for the Tune Up 169.00 approx.
There is a pretty big Jump $$ to Soundz after J&M's discount, but apples to apples I think I would try Soundz next. Nothing against J&M and if price is part of the decision for sure buy J&M. But I think that Soundz sound is more what I was looking for.
