I haven't started my bike in 4 months. And now that it's warming up a lil bit, I'm thinking of starting my bike. But I'm lil worried to turn it on since it's been more than 4 months last I rode it. Shud there be any issues. It's been connected to battery tender all winter.

Go ahead and fire it up and take it out for a bit. There is no need to worry. I keep my bikes on tenders too. My 2015 sat for over two months before I started it a just few weeks age.

After sitting for that long give it a good going over - tires, pressure, fluid levels, lights, etc. After that start her up, warm her up, give her a couple of easy miles getting used to things again - and then enjoy your ride!

Shouldn't be any issues besides old gas. I always go crank mine at least once a week just cause I like to hear it run I guess.

I was told that if u don’t get it above 2000rpm it doesn’t charge, sooo starting it and not driving it does nothing to charge the battery. But with a battery tender u should b fine. Chris

Did you put fuel stabilizer in the tank like Seafoam? If not air your tires and go run that old gas out and put in some fresh. Other than the tires loosing air I don't know what else there is too worry about.

Sometimes when bikes sit for month there might be a little top end noise due to lack of oil. That's happens to me but my bike sat for 3 or 4 months. Just start her up let it warm up and go for a easy ride to start. After she's all warmed up let her eat!

Sometimes when I leave my bike sit for months the top end will make some chatter. Its only because the oil has drained. Just start her up and let her warm up for a few min. Take a easy ride and let her warm all the way up and get the oil where it needs to be. After she's good and hot... Let her eat!

You can spray some fogger it the plug holes to help lubricate it some. Also do not rev until you let it idle for a few minutes and you should be fine. In the future, you can fog your cylinders if it is gonna sit for a long time without cranking and it will protect you cylinder walls from condensation while in storage!

I just bought a “used” bike. According to the VIN report, the bike had 59 miles on it last June and was delivered to me in Feb with 66 miles. I charged the battery, checked it over as suggested above (only issue was the oil was low) and have been riding happily.

Thanks for all the info. I fired up my bike and let it idle for 5 mins before take off. Looks like it was ok. All went smooth.
