Lowering the front ?

I just purchased my first street glide , it’s a 2007 and I’m coming from many years on a sportster.
I got this bike used at a bargain.
Ordered the dirty air kit for the rear (going on next week. It’s a tad bit too tall for me to flat foot
I was looking at pics of other street glides
Is lowering the front a thing?
This bike has a 21” front wheel
I have no way to tell if it’s already been lowered although I doubt it
What’s recommended ?
1-2 inch kit for the front ?
Should i go ahead and do it while we are installing the dirty air kit on the rear?

You can do Legend AXO front suspension with 1" drop, that'll give you suspension upgrade the same time lower your front end an inch. I have Legend suspension all the way around on my '15 SG with 1" drop front, 21" wheel/tire.

Do some research before you drop the front end too much as I have heard stories of people smashing the front fender after hitting pot holes. Like BlkDragon has stated you can drop it an inch without worry. Should be a few threads on here if you use the search feature upper right hand corner.

While you can certainly do the AXEO 1" Lowered Fork Kit with a 21" front as BlkDragon did, Legend now offers an AXEO 21 Fork Kit which is specifically designed to lower the front 1" to properly accept the 21" front. The only difference performance-wise between the AXEO 1" Lowered over the AXEO21 Kit is that the AXEO21 has built in "stops" that eliminate the risk of the triple tree smacking the fender if you hit a harsh bump in the road which is a very real possibility with the 1" Lowered version if you live in an area with bad roads.

That said, there is a price difference between the two with the AXEO21 being a bit more expensive than the AXEO 1" Lowered so I suppose you have to weigh the "bottoming out risk" vs. "your overall budget" to help make your decision as to which way to go in that regard.

I put the Axeo -1 suspension on my '14 when I went to 21 and 18 inch wheels a few years ago and I've never had a problem. I did my suspension just before Legends came out with the Axeo21. Like I said, never a problem, even on what they try to pass for roads when I was still living in Ohio, but if I were going to do it over again today, I think I'd go with the Axeo21 just to be sure. If you decide to go this route, call Lindsey @ Iron Aces and let her know you're a member here, she hooked me up with a nice deal on my front and rear suspension and got that stuff shipped to me quick.

I can't tell you anything about the new AXEO21 as it was not available when I was looking to keep the bike level and not that I need to drop it to keep my feet flat on the ground. I have hit pot holes so hard I thought both wife & I almost flew off in Tucson. Not just once, several times so I can tell you it has no issue, then again I can't tell you for sure it'll not happen. I spoke with Legend and they do not recommend it for 21" but they also told me that AXEO 1" drop has nitro liquid stops that they don't see any issue.

I totally recommend AXEO21 as that's exactly what it's made for. If I have to do it all over with AXEO21 available now I would definitely go that route too.
