What are the pros and cons of matte finish paint? For those of you, who have bikes with matte finish paint, if you had it to do over again, would you stay away from it? Isn’t the cleanup much easier, seeing as how no waxing would be needed?

It's no problem. I would buy it again. My gas tank has polished areas where my knees rub on it. Looks OK to me.

I love the look and it’s unique not many denim bikes around compared to lots of shiny bikes, yes the paint scuffs easy , just received some Top coat once the weather breaks gonna add a few coats suppose to help with bugs and protect the finish, seems the flat clear coat is high maintenance. Wash with Dawn or Harley Denim cleaner regular to keep in top shape. Top coat is expensive , yes the Denim when kept new looking is bad arse looking to me and gets a lot of attention I keep a cover over the bike and it’s in a shop due to critters will scratch it up

Just switched from Blk Denim to Crushed Ice White I loved the matte paint job when I bought it. Now everyone and their brother has it. Hell, I'm seeing it on cars now! Yet I it still think it looks great. But there's no protection. You get a nick or scratch, which you will if you ride, then that's it. No buffing it out, no touch up. Just begins to rust. That part drove me crazy.

Very true I bumped scuffed one one of my lid had to get it re painted it’s a flat clear on top of a flat black from Harley or that’s the touch up paint I bought the painter did a good job blending my lid it’s a high maintenance high cost paint job for sure.. still loving it right now miss waxing my bike. Just wash and go women’s boots will kill this Denim black 😳

I don't think I will have to worry about my wife's boots hitting my bags, as it is very likely that she will not ride on it without a backrest. KOMODO will be the hot rod/touring bike that we ride together.

How does everyone's batwing fairing look after thousands of miles of riding and getting pelted with bugs, sand and pebbles? Was just wondering if the matte paint is more susceptible to chips than a shiny paint job?

Cool! Thanks hulkss. I know you have logged lots of miles and had a chance to properly evaluate it...LOL.When I was at the dealership picking up the bike, the guys in sales sold me a bottle of the Denim Paint Cleaner and told me to never use anything but that, or water on the bike, or I would ruin the paint. I had not heard of this beforehand. I have since researched denim paint a little more and noticed that many people are using Windex to clean their bikes.

I've got about 12K on mine and haven't had any paint issues. The front fairing has held up well, only scuffs are on my right saddlebag from my boot...

I would not use Windex....especially not the Ammonia formula!

Bugs on fairing:

I use mild dawn dish soap 3500 Miles it looks great the original owner used the same just wash and go I have Top coat to put on mine my wife bought me for Christmas I’m doing the entire bike in Top coat. I’ll post up soon on how I like it on the Denim. hulks find looks promising at a better price point
