Hello guys, gotta pick a few brains here this morning. I know alot of us have problems with the HD infotainment radio system so i thought i would share mine and hope someone has an answer because my HD dealer surely is no help. As a lot of us do i like to play my music through the usb port and use a thumbdrive loaded with my liking of tunes. The thumbdrive worked for quite a while as it is suppose to. then started switching back and forth between thumbdrive and radio, then back again. Never know when it happens very random. Thumbdrive to radio back to drive then to radio, annoying as hell. Switched thumbdrive with a buddy thinking it was the drive, no improvement with different thumbdrive. Buddies radio not affected by my drive. Took to dealer and they said it had to be in thumbdrive. I purchased two more drives from two different manufacturers, loaded them with tunes and they all do the same thing. Have the latest update on radio from HD, dealer said they rebooted system and nothing has worked. IM convinced its not the thumbdrives, they suggested using an ipod. Anyone have similar probs with radio switching randomly from thumbdrive to radio and back and forth. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

I would suspect a loose connection between the drive and radio. The USB cord screws (I think) into the back of the radio and goes through to the compartment, so it could be loose at the radio or the actual USB female connection. Has it ever happened while sitting with the bike off?

You may have to make the dealer take a real look instead of the usual blame game they try with these things.

Warranty issue? I use I-Heart radio and a I-Pod and not had any issues. I personally have a great dealership and a great relationship with them, but at the same time I have a, "I spent the money you stand by your product or the next time I fill out a customer survey I will remember" attitude.

^^^What he said....

The randomness of it would lead more to loose or dirty connection. I haven't turned on the radio in a while, but doesn't it go back to radio when you unplug the USB then back to USB when you plug it back in?

My radio did the same thing, switching from usb to radio on its own. It's only happened twice and hasn't done it again in over 8 months.

Just a question??? Do you have your phone plugged into the plug on the right side of the dash as well, and/or is your phone nearby with the Bluetooth turned on and synced with your bike. Took a long time, but learned that my Samsung Galaxy 6 is not compatible with the bike. It will sync, play music, phone will ring and all, but it sometimes switches between radio, USB, and phone music. Just a thought-
