You can Plasti-Dip it... the spray is dirt cheap and tough... and it will come off when YOU want it to....

it's a small enough piece that PD will look pretty good there. It will give you an idea of how it will look black... if you don't like it, you can peel it back to the chrome. If you like it... keep that way until you PC it

One clean MACHEEN , nice work blue

Hahaaa killer mailbox too

Yah I thought about plastic-dip for the headlight ring and rear brake light assembly. But I want gloss black and the reviews of the PD glossifier aren't that good.

Thank you! The Scoot is still a work in progress.

My buddy works at a body shop and painted the mailbox for me.

Bluebowtie- Can you move the SG, it's blocking my view of the dog!

The gloss black ring HD offers in catalog does fit the 14. Not labeled that way but fits perfect. Misprint. Plasti dipped mine. Could not clean bugs off.

Yep! I knew someone had done it... couldn't place a name to it though.... DONT BE A STRANGER!!!! LOL

I knew he's the plasti-dip master
I like the chrome trim ring, just my opinion. I would keep it as is.

I think it's a eye sore

That's good to know and your right it's a PITA to clean.

Am I understanding you guys correctly that you think the plasti-dip is hard to clean?

I get an aerosol can of glass cleaner the foaming stuff, spray it on, let it sit for a minute or two and the bugs just wipe off.

It's hard to clean because of the tight confines

Just something to think about while I was at the dealer Thursday waiting for my bike to get done I found a denim black bike there with red accents. Never thought about his before but what a beautiful bike. They had done the spokes on the rims all the chrome pieces were the red accent and just waiting for someone to buy it to finish the black exhaust with your choice. I should have taken a picture or 2 but it's an after thought now. If your close to Carson city you may want to go look at it just to see something very different. Had it been there when I bought mine I might of had a black bike with red accents right now.

Denim black comes with red pinstripe vivid black comes with silver pinstripe.

I have a buddy who has plasti dipped most of his bike. Looks awesome. And when he doesn't want the black anymore he can just remove it.

Light and even coats... 15-20 minutes apart. Be patient with it..... too thick from rushing will be noticed. 5-6 coats works well. I did a grille on a 2007 Jetta and lasted over 2 years without a nick when I sold it.
